The territory

A STRONG CONNECTION WITH

THE TERRITORY

In the fertile agricultural area of Manduria, in a district called “Monache-Paduli” that has always been culturally integrated into the Salento area, are the vineyards of the Nigro family.

An important economic centre of the Province of Taranto, the territory of Manduria has always been well-known for its Primitivo wine. This is the less touristy part of Salento, alternating beautifully wild beaches that are still not visited by many people, with evocative cities of art.

Here, our ancient bush-trained vineyards – the oldest of which was planted in 1920 and still produces a splendid sweet, natural Primitivo – and the newer, Guyot-trained ones, look out over the landscape as it slopes down from the surrounding hills to the Ionian sea and its nature reserves.

The proximity of our vineyards to the sea is beneficial and distinctive, giving our wines mineral notes, subtlety, and a surprisingly complex aroma that makes them truly unique.
